Rio by Neil Innes and The Values

“Rio” features Neil Innes singing and playing piano, Julian Wakeling on additional keyboards and guitar and backing vocals, Paul Speare on sax, Leo Abrahams on slide guitar, Horace Panter (of The Specials) on bass, Francis Macdonald (of Teenage Fanclub) on percussion. The track was produced by Micko Westmoreland and Julian Wakeling. Mix by Micko Westmoreland.
The video was made by artists Gordon Beswick and Harry Pye. With thanks to Rowland Smith and Marcus Cope. Rio was written by Mike Nesmith and in 1977 it reached Number One in the Australian pop charts.
Neil Innes was a founder member of the legendary Bonzo Dog band and wrote their biggest hit “I’m The Urban Spaceman”. Neil has appeared on TV shows such as Do Not Adjust Your Set, Monty Python, Rutland Weekend Television, and The Innes Book of Records and in many films including Monty Python Live at The Holywood Bowl, and Magical Mystery Tour. For more info:
